Vocabulary Settings
Configure how FlowReader handles vocabulary based on your proficiency level.
Vocabulary Levels
Choose the level that best matches your current vocabulary:
500 Words (A1 - Beginner)
For those just starting with English. Focuses on the most common words.
1000 Words (A2 - Elementary)
For basic conversational ability. Includes everyday vocabulary.
2000 Words (B1 - Intermediate) [Default]
For comfortable everyday reading. Covers most common texts.
3000 Words (B2 - Upper Intermediate)
For academic and professional reading. Includes more advanced vocabulary.
5000 Words (C1 - Advanced)
For complex texts and nuanced understanding. Sophisticated vocabulary.
8000 Words (C2 - Proficient)
Near-native vocabulary level. Only the most advanced words are highlighted.
Setting Your Level
- Open FlowReader Settings
- Go to the Vocabulary tab
- Select your level from the dropdown
- Your choice is automatically saved
Managing Known Words
As you learn words, you can mark them as "Known" to:
- Filter them from future analyses
- Focus on new vocabulary
- Track your progress
Bulk Operations
You can:
- Mark multiple words as "Known" at once
- Export your known words list
- Reset your vocabulary history
Recommendations
- Start with a lower level if you want to see more vocabulary help
- Adjust upward as you learn more words
- Be honest about your level - it's okay to see familiar words as reminders
- Regular marking of known words improves the filtering quality
